"Body Stories" Presentation
Today we had a nutritionist come and educate us about our health. She explained how to us how to eat healthier, and also what to avoid. I definitely learned a lot about the foods I eat and do not eat. Also, exercise is so important for the body. It does so much more than losing weight, it keeps you healthy.
Later on in the day, we did a "Disease Outbreak" simulation. This simulation taught us more about our environment, and safety tips about outbreaks along with out to identify that it is an outbreak.
Towards the end of the day we presented our "Body Stories" presentation in front of Tier1, Tier 3 and faculty. It was a very nerve wracking presentation but it was also so much of fun. Being the second group to present, I was scared. We got up in front many people, introduced ourselves and began. After I told the audience who I was, my nerves began to calm down a little. They grilled us on questions, but I think we handled and answered them pretty well. However, once it was over, I missed it. This was the first time I presented in front of doctors, so of course I was nervous, however, I am so proud of myself. It takes a lot of confidence to speak to that many people and I conquered it, Our group did so well!
Mr. Squire ended the day with a wonderful speech about being on our "Green" performance. It was such an amazing and motivational speech. It taught us to push harder than our "good". It made me feel confident and motivated. We realized that being in High School, and thinking about college, we get stressed and sometimes we want to give up. Sometimes we settle for just average when we know very well that we can give stellar. Mr. Squire convinced us that we need to push, no matter how hard we want to give up. Right after that bit of pain, comes mountains of success.
