Week one = done
It is hard getting used to a 8-5 schedule Monday-Friday. I usually set my alarm to 6:50am, that way I have about ten minutes to lay in bed before I actually have to get up. I dress up and leave my apartment at 7:30 so that way I arrive at the med school at 7:45. It is tough having this as a summer schedule but it also motivates me, encourages me, and prepares me for the rest of my life which a lot of it will revolve around a similar schedule for work/school. I will be using this weekend to get caught up on some needed sleep.
Today we talked to the admissions panel along with a couple of M2's. They advised all the medical students about interviews and what they need for one such as a light for virtual interviews. Dr. Linton and Lucy were so amazing and welcoming. We were able to ask questions and get an insight into the interview process.
After lunch, we worked on our personal statements. I started mine and feel like deleting all of it. But, I know that I should not do that but just try to tweak it to be better. I do want to set up meetings with some of our interns to help me refine it. I think I may ask Anne to help me analyze some strong components to talk about in my statement. I am struggling with starting it strong. I feel like the start of my statement is very weak and that's not how I want it to begin.
We ended the day with a tour of the Nursing school and it was so cool. They had some very realistic dummies and room set up for the students to practice on. The nursing school here is a Clemson building so as always, Go Tigers!
