Whopper Jr. Vs. Bullying Jr.

This morning, we begin out by asking the M2's about how they time manage and what their schedules consist of. Some students go to class while others don't. I learned that it really is what works best for you. Some of the students preferred getting up early to start their school work and leaving their errands for later in the evening, while for other students, it was the complete opposite. I think that it is important to try a couple of techniques to see what fits your style the best.

We then had a about an hour to work on applications so I moved to a quiet spot to work on my WIX. Then after we came back, Uncle Al talked to us and he had a "Standing Up" presentation. We went through some strong points like accepting each and every person for who they are, not for where they come from, their zip code, or their skin color. We had a couple opportunities to talk in our small groups about a couple prompts, one of them being "Share a time where you did not stand up for someone else." Many people shared an experience and one of them that stood out to me was said by Kenan. He shared that when he was in 7th grade he saw a kid get bullied and beaten up. He clearly had passed by the situation and in his head he was wanting to confront the bully, but he didn't and he decided to just keep walking. He said he regrets it up until this day. I think that I have been placed in similar situations throughout my life. I want to stand up for someone but I don't. The main reason that I don't is because many times, I am afraid that I will get bullied too. A lot of my peers felt the same way. However, later on in the day, Al showed us a bully campaign that Burger King posted and it was amazing. Here is the link if you would like to watch it! I would highly recommend that you do!
