Day 16
Today is considered our virtual day. We started off the morning with a virtual lecture from Columbia Admissions.

We then were introduced to Dr. Epright. She seems amazing. I love that she took time out of her lecture to get to know us. That really showed me how interested she is in getting to know us. We all went around the classroom introducing ourselves, our major, college, and our animals. It fascinated me to know how many people had pet fish.

After Dr. Epright's lecture, our disability and diagnoses lecture was spend via zoom. I stayed in the medschool for this lecture

Day 18
Clinical day.
Today I was not able to shadow the hospital.
Day 17
Today we are going to the anatomy lab!!! I was so excited and after going, it was amazinngng! Our lecture focused on the back and upper extremity. So far, the anatomy lab has been one of my most exciting experiences. It is something that I never knew I would be able to see during an internship.

After lab, we talked about gap years and if we would like to take one, and that lecture solidified my reason to take a gap year. I plan to do some really cool and impactful things during it. I do not want it to go to waste.
Day 19
Today seemed to go by faster than usual. Our 9-11 slot focused on the Great Collaboration where we continued to work with our groups to form ideas about our topic. We were then able to move to the SIM lab and work on the IMP case intro 2 where Anne acted out some different patient examples. We were able to act doctor in order to try to diagnose her. It was funny and exciting at the same time.
Day 20
I have been in contact with a pediatric OT in Spartanburg and I as able to shadow her today! Shadowing different places has provided me with insight on how best practices and treatment approaches may vary. I love that OT's are able to make up fun therapies on the fly and still impact the patient tremendously. It amazes me how unique some of the activities can be.
